This question will help you to identify how the candidate works.

Any answer that emphasizes the importance of organization, good communication, and accountability. 

Design Project Questions

Talking about projects and processes will help you to gauge how a candidate really works.

1. Walk me through your design process…

Questions like this will give you an idea of the candidate’s design process and how they’ll fit in with your company’s workday.

The perfect response: 

This is the opportunity for the interviewee to show you exactly how they work, you need to see evidence of them working hard, and following through right until the very end.

2. How do you incorporate current trends into your designs?

This is important because good prospects should be up to date with what’s going on in the design world.

The perfect response: 

Any answer that includes examples of them using current design trends is a good one!

3. How did your last two projects go?

This question will give you a good insight into what the designer is like to work with.

The perfect response:

Answers should include a good description of the projects, but if they talk badly about the projects or clients, be aware!

4. What’s your favorite project that you’ve ever done and why do you like it the most?

Asking something like this (a variation could also be, what’s your favorite website?) gives a great insight into a candidate’s creativity.
